curved cst

when i simulate a conformal antenna, which is located on cylinder surface, a warning as " some critical cells have been expanded to full size ...". as results,
parts of the antenna have been connected, even shorten to ground. what is the reason and how to solve this problem?

cst curved planar

It's a mesh problem. Try adaptive meshing or manually mesh the problematic area. you can see which cells are expanded by turning the mesh on.

Hope it helps

hi there

how do you simulate conformal antenna on cylindrical surface using CST MWS.

i want to see the response of patch antenna when it is bended along a curved surface?

do you model planar antenna and then use some way to bend it ? or you directly model the curved antenna?

any comments are welcome

you build it using cylinders and 'cut it' appropriately. did that and it works. a bit cumbersome but it works

hello there,

i modeled a conformal antenna (on a cylinder side) but cst simulator gives warning saing that the staircase mesh cells has been filled with PEC. as a result, it give bad radiation pattern (far from expectation). can anyone suggest how to tackle this prob.

thanks a lot.
