Hi,

I was wondering how to model a voltage controlled switch in HSPICE...

I tried using.....

g1 2 0 VCR PWL(1) 1 0 0,10meg 1v,1m

However this does'nt seem to work....

I find the voltage at node 2 always 0 irrespective of correct set of inputs...
can anyone help??

hspice model vswitch

Looks like the statement is correct. What do you have connected at node 2? You are not going to see a change in voltage if you leave node 2 floating.

hspice vswitch

To see the voltage at node 2 change, you can connect node 2 to a current source, or to a voltage source by a resistor. Don't leave it float, neither connect it to a voltage source directly.

vswitch hspice

well...this is how i was trying to view the output.
Node 5 is supposed to reflect the output.

.trans 1ns 100ns
v1 1 0 pulse -5 5 0ns 1ns 1ns 20ns 50ns
gswitch 2 0 vcr pwl(1) 1 0 0v,10meg 1v,1m
r1 2 3 1m
vs 3 0 0
h1 4 0 vs -1
e1 5 0 value='v(4)'
.end

Vswitch in Hspice???

You need to specify a voltage value greater than zero for vs. Otherwise, you will not have any current flowing through the switch and the voltage at node 2 will not change.

Re: Vswitch in Hspice???

hey guys....

thanx...I just got confused between the trigger voltage and the conduction voltage...
