HFSS error question....

hfss error

Hi, I have a error when I run HFSS to simulate a helix antenna. The error message is "Non-manifold vertices found for XXX part." I am not sure the exact meaning of it.... Any help will be appreciated.
 

cannot view imported model in hfss

this kind error might happen when the model is imported from SAT file or other types of files. Some very small structures or surfaces have discrepency. I remember in CST it has "aneal" function to fix this kind of discrepency. But for HFSS, I dont have any idea. So you may try to use HFSS to regenerate the whole models and solve again.

non manifold hfss error

Hi:

are the cross section and helical axis parallel in your project or not ?
I think your cross section will not become a solid after sweeping by helix .
please check your structure after sweeping , if it is a solid object or not.

resolve non manifold vertices error in hfss

hi, in fact I got the helix structure in ProE file, and import it as STEP in HFSS. Maybe that's why I got this problem.

In fact, even though a simple structure imported to HFSS, there exists some discrepancy that the HFSS can not finish the mesh generation......

I am not sure how to fix the problem with it because the geometry is so complicated that I cannot draw it in HFSS again....
 

hfss error mesh generation

Hi!

What U can do for helical models is , if you are using HFSS v9.2.1 , U can draw it ..the modeller is easy to use. I have done some helical antenna designs.

OR U can use a IGES or a SAT format.
