Hi
I want to make a "caller id" with MT8870.
I was make the circuit in page-7 of the attachment "MT8870.rar"
But it only shows the number when i push the phone button.
How can i receive the phone number from caller ?
Have you a sample.

Re: Caller Id question

Hi

The 8870 is a DTMF decoder only if you want to view the caller id number you must connect to the service first, and use a proper decoder acording to your service provider

You must ask your phone compny what type of CID service do thay provide

And acording to the service type design and build {or buy} a caller id display

All the best

Bobi

Caller Id question

if bts send data of caller id in dtfm format you can receive this data before ring incomming.
you can sample the voice on the line to input of mt8870 using a capacitor in differentioal mode of mt8870 and waiting for call if you hear the tone incomming before ring your bts send caller id data in dtfm format otherwise you must use fsk caller id such as mt8841 or mt8843
