what is the result at output pin if the input given to microcontroller is negative voltage at any input port

Re: what is the result at output port if i give negative vol

Microcontrollers have specifications for input voltages for the "0" and "1" state. As a rule, they do not tolerate negative input voltages.

Re: what is the result at output port if i give negative vol

as said every microcontroller has its specification for the 0-1 voltage ranges , but when you use negative voltages you will affect the pin because you will sink current from the port transistors and that may damage the transistors because the ability for sinking is less the sourcing.

Re: what is the result at output port if i give negative vol

if input voltage is under -0.5V, the chip will latchup and burn out.

if input voltage is negative and greater -0.5V, output will remain

previous state.

best regards
