can some tell me ARM 7/8 controller or processor ?

cause some where it is refered as controller and somewhere as processor ?

also any schematics for evaluation bord ?

The functionality is same for a processor as well as microcontroller, except that microcontroller has a memory inbuilt in it and some other minor issues.
Its an microcontroller

Hi

ARM7 controller like the LPC2138 is a device who hold all need peripheral whitin

e.g. :memory, timer,I2C,SPI,UART etc

ARM7 processor need to add requird peripherl see LPC22xx

There are many ARM7 best controller like the SAM7,STAR7,TMS470,LPC21xx

but as far as I know there is no ARM8

Use the controller is more easy to start with since every thing encluded !

All the best

The arm 7 will be the new pic when talking about microcontrollers... Atended a seminar some weeks ago and the info was realy promising. Several companies are developing code compilant microporcessors at low cost, starting below 3$!

As for arm8, if I remember correctly, it was a bit of step in the wrong direction for arm. CPUs built on that core is stil used in some older military applications and simular but not use for new designs. (correct me if Im wrong)

For dev board and startup info, use google. Some starting point could be...
