proton compiler or picbasic pro compiler.
sorry but i found them mostly the same... :!:

Re: pbplus or pbpro ?

I think proton is better, there does not seem to be any changes made to pbp outside of adding new chips, where proton seems to get better with some major changes all the time

Re: pbplus or pbpro ?

Hello

What applications do you want to work on ?

Both compilers are very good, nor any of them is bad, and nor any better than the other, it just differs upon what each compiler presents for you.

For example, PICBasic Pro has a built in I2C commands that work on PICs that don't have I2C hardware, while PICBasic Plus doesn't.

On the other hand, PICBasic Plus supports graphic LCDs, while PICBasic Pro doesn't, so you have to know what applications you want to develop, and decide which compiler fits your needs.

BTW, I have spoken to jeff schmoyer, the PICBasic Pro support guy, and programmer also, he told me that they are working on floating point support, and lots of things that will make PICBasic Pro supass PICBasic Plus, thats what he told me.

Any help, just ask ;)

pbplus or pbpro ?

I think for a beginner PicBasic Plus & Proteus VSM make the best combination because Proteus can Debug the BASIC code written in PbPlus.
