Hi people

I am seeking help on designing a very simple and low cost (if possible) GSM modem module. The modem is required to only send SMS's to mobiles (not receive).

This design is to be integrated into a PIC microcontroller project that I am working on.

Has anybody already done this and can help me ? Where do I start ?

Help needed ASAP.

when u take gsm model is complex when compare with PHS std. so take PHS std and decrease QoS to only send SMS . then it will help ur project to finish soon.
 

You can use old mobile instead of GSM modem module. it's very cheap. such as C35

Hi

I have done it with SONY-ERICSON GM47 cell modem

The easy way is to connect the controller to TX & RX line (UART 3 ) and work with AT connand

To generate AT command is bit easy but to decode it it's a bit comlex

I've done this module 2 years ago using 89C51, MAX232 and an old ERICCSSON T10 mobilephone. It works great and very cheap.
