I am looking for efficient code of a long period (about 2^31) pseudorandom generator
function for 8-bit microvontrollers.

Ok, I found the solution in the book:

just took a code from the book

unsigned long idum = 0;
...
idum = 1664525L*idum + 1013904223L;

and compared the result with the book recommended sequence. It was the
same.
