Micrcontrollers

Hi,
I want to know the difference between SPI and the I2C busses on a PIC.
Which would be better for Bit Bashing?

Thanks.

Re: Micrcontrollers

If you require master only then both are easy to implement in software, slave mode requires a lot more work and most people would settle for a device with a onboard peripheral.

Speed wise spi will run faster than I2C, most serial eeproms run @ 60MHz these days, not that a pic woul get anywhere near that.
