Power supplies to Op-Amp

Hi everyone:
Whenever one designs Op-amp, there are two symmertical power supplies namely, Vdd and Vss.
After designing, if the power supplies are reverted to Vdd and Gnd such that the difference between the Vdd and Vss is same as Vdd and Gnd; would the op-amp work? does the condition for working correctly depends upon the fabrication process?
Please discuss on this.. I am not able to get to a result...

Hi. Yes, the opamp would work, but you might want to define a new "ground" for input signals that is slightly above the real ground to make sure the opamp's transistors remain biased. Try googling "single supply opamps".
 

If you want to do the AC simulation,you must apply the biase voltage to the input.
