Can a saturated EMI core damaged a MOSFET switch?

Hi! Can a saturated Common Mode choke can damaged a MOSFET switch?
 

you mean in an SMPS?
i doubt it, very much doubt it
Also, common mode chokes rarely saturate as common mode current in them is very small usually....unless the turns are not equal

In context to damage of SMPS I have some bad experience of input rectifier and emi circuit malfunction. I'm still not clear why it happened as it happened many times even after this post https://www.edaboard.com/threads/235071/
I perceive that the fault was due to reaction of reactive circuitry of emi & filter capacitors and common mode choke. However I will try again without including emi circuitry for next design to check if it was the culprit as it matters much from design point of view!

yes switching on at mains peak, when no pfc bypass diode, or no big cap following rectifier, can result in overvoltage ringing of emc filter....best is to put some damping in and make everything sized high enough in volts to stay out of trouble.

Even of the fuse datasheet says its "rated" to not blow with such a current surge?
Just asking because i previously suspected nuisance tripping due to fuse wear but the manufacturer told me it "never happens".
