When I run Calibre PEX, it gives me an error that the attached rule file has a precision 1000 and the GDS file has precision 20000. Is there a way to change the precision of my calibre xRC rule deck or I have to limit my GDS precision to 1000 ?
Thanks

I'd need more details to recommend the best way (see the section "Best Way to Resize Designs" in the xrc_user manual) but you could try adding "LAYOUT USE DATABASE PRECISION YES" to the SVRF rule file. (That is supposed to be the default for xRC and xL if it isn't specified in the rule file. It is possible the foundry has reasons for wanting you to use a precision of 1000, such as netlist size, run time, or units used in their calculations, so I don't recommend overriding the foundry's setup.)

If you are using Calibre Interactive (the GUI), open the PEX Options pane and look for the Database tab. There should be a Precision subtab that lets you set Precision and Resolution.

Good luck. Some of the interactions between precision, resolution, and magnification are described in the Calibre Verification User's Manual and the Solutions for Physical Verification. It can be tricky, and you should probably check the values of all three before changing any one.
