Hi everyone!
I just installed Cadence Virtuoso and MMSIM under Linux Mint 18.1 64 bit. I have performed the installation following the instructions of the thread "Cadence Virtuoso and MMSIM installation". I want to specify that it's my second installation, first one performed in 64 bit.
Everything worked as expected. I setted up the .bashrc in the same way I did with the 32 bit of Linux Mint, and Virtuoso started without problem.
So I decided to simulate a circuit and I got some problems. The first one was an error ADE-3036 that I managed to resolve with the following:

1) install libreadline5
2) go to ADE-->Setup-->Environment Options, thick "Run With 64 bit binary" option

Now when I simulate a circuit I get this error in the output log:

Notice from spectre during license check-out.
Waiting for available license for Virtuoso(R) Spectre.

And the simulation doesn't proceed.
I also went to see the output of the runSimulation file in the netlist directory to know the exact cause of the error, and this is the result:

WARNING: HOST <hostname> DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A CADENCE SUPPORTED LINUX CONFIGURATION.
For More Info, Please Run '<cdsroot>/tools.lnx86/bin/checkSysConf' <productId>.

When I run checkSysConf I only get this: theHost: Undefined variable.

At this point I don't know anymore what to do. Can anyone please help me?

Check your license. It is possible, that it doesn't support the 64bit binary option for your Linux Mint 18.1 64 bit system.

Linux MINT is not supported platform for Cadence ADE.Cadence ADE 6.17 supports Redhat and Ubuntu Linux distros.I have installed on a CentOS 6.8 and I had faced to resolve many compatibility problems.
Ubuntu is free and supported, why don't you try it ??

erikl: I don't think Cadence will start if the license is not valid.
BigBoss: I had Cadence Virtuoso installed on LM 32 bit. Linux Mint is a Ubuntu based distro,

No, C@dence software will start anyway. It doesn't look for licenses until you try and start simulation or layout tools.
