HI all,
i need a small help in finding the difference between the Chinese and original IC of Atmel 89S52-24AU (SMD - TQFP package).
i have both Chinese and Original IC, as there is no difference between this two IC'S. how can i differentiate between this two, that which one is original and which one is chinese.

Hi,

Sometimes the manufacturer has pages on the website that detail the markings on ICs, like the date, you just have to look through that information and see if they put country codes on the ICs. Might come under "package marking codes" or similar.

i was buy Chinese low cost pic16f628a at .5$ and it's work fine
i think Chinese chip is only clone but work fine with me

Hi,

So they both work the same, as you said in the first post. Why do you want to know which is which - just because?

Out of genuine curiosity, how can "original" be defined, besides manufacturer "seal of approval" and logo, if said "original" is made by a subcontracted semiconductor factory in, for example, the Philippines, Taiwan, Mexico, etc.?

Anyway, Atmel will surely have plenty of code marking and date marking and batch and so on marking information on their web, which is a way of differentiating.

One of the things that makes it very difficult to respond accurately in this forum is incomplete information provided by the original posters; leaving the meaning of the question open to interpretation.

In this instance, my interpretation is that by "Chinese" the OP really means "counterfeit", based in the sad fact that most counterfeit devices come from that country.

But there are many legitimate devices which are actually made in China.
