how to install cadence solaris 10

Hi

I only readed that Solaris 10 could run linux application inside.

Yeah, I noticed that SUN claimed their Solaris 10 has compitible with Linux application. But i didn't install Cadence IC 5033 (Linux x86) on it.

how to run cadence on solaris

i have the same question. how to install ic 5033 on solaris 10.
and i have two CDs which are the update files of IC 5033. anyone can tell me how to use it to update IC?

do not even try this ... I try it with ... fail...
just using redhat .. or other ... like suse ... work well ..

cadence only released redhat linux version of IC5033. You can goto cadence homepage to check the supported OS.

I don't believe IC50 can be installed on solaris 10 for x86. Because they are totally different. Just like you can't run linux(x86) program on windowsXP without emulation.

Sun has a project named "Janus", this project can let linux application run on the Solaris X86. However, this project was postponed. So, the first release of Solaris 10 (X86) isn't include this function. Maybe we can install IC5033 on Solaris (x86) next year.

I have tried but neither IC5033 for Linux or for Solaris installs on Solaris 10 (x86).

I know I'm not helping but I'll increase statistics

It is the same as the Solaris9, ONLY the administor is more easy.

Have anyone installed EDA software under solaris? I have a arrura for ic4.4.5 which sames to be a unix version, if i can install it under solaris?

The core of Solaris 10 (x86) and Solaris 10 (unix) is totally different. It is impossible to install unix version or linux version EDA under solaris x86. To install EDA on PC, you'd better use Linux version.

I think Solaris 10 is the same as linux
