hi all
not sure if this is where i should put this but its my best guess

i have a car radar detector that i am using on my motorcycle..i have the volume on full and have hard wired a set of led lights to where the speaker would normally go so when the radar activated the lights flash when the sound would normally chirp.. now the problem is when the bike isnt running the lights are bright..as soon as the bike is running and the voltage increases from 12v to 13.6 the lights dimm as they flash what would cause this?

Hi,

Hard for me to say... Maybe something else on the bike needs some of the power that makes the LEDs bright when it's not running, and when running the LEDs draw too much power when flashing, so as a consequence the voltage drops.

wiring harness contacts; battery condition.
