Hi,
I'm looking to build a charger to charge 2 x 12v 12ah lifepo4 batteries in series, that can charge fairly quickly. I currently have a charger for 12v 12ah lead gel batteries with a 80va transformer (not sure if that makes any difference to this question), could I just use this?

ps, I have little to no knowledge of electronics so please bare with me. Thanks

Pete

description of the unit:
It's a power distributor. It's about 12 years old, it housed 2 x 12v 12ah lead gel batteries, has built in charger, a red and green LED to show when it was fully charged, a meter to show how much power the battery had left and and off/on button.

here are some pictures incase it helps.

:-| That looks decidedly home made.
Unless you have the schematic it was built from I would forget the idea and start afresh.

Brian.
