The prof showed us how to draw the circuit of a current source load inverter amplifier. How do I go about doing the same for designing a current sink load inverter amplifier?

Do I just replace the constant current source circuit (which I constructed from NMOS current mirror) with a p-channel current mirror?

Hi,

I really have to ask at least 1 question - If Q1 is a PMOS, wouldn't Vin high make Vout high, and Vin low make Vout low? I don't see how that can be an inverter. How is Vi amplified and inverted at the Vo node?

Please could you comment on how that circuit works as an inverter, as that circuit is a new concept for me, thanks.

I am not a 100% sure, but I think, since Q1 is an amplifying transistor andan NMOS and Q2 and Q3 are both PMOS, hence Vi is benign amplified by Q1 and inverted by Q2, Q3.. Again, I am not 100% sure, this is just my understanding! I hope it's correct though :)

A common source amplifier is always inverting, no matter whether it's NMOS or PMOS or what the load is.

Hi,

Thanks, "Do I just replace the constant current source circuit (which I constructed from NMOS current mirror).. with a p-channel current mirror?" had me wondering, looking at the actual schematic...
