Hi All,

I am a newbie to demodulation and carrier synchronization.

For low power demodulation the data after ADC in RX, what are the various algorithms algorithm available? A google search returned Viterbi, LDPC, Matched filter etc.

For optimum demodulation, one also needs carrier synchronization for good BER performance? What techniques are available? Again google search returns lot of techniques eg:Gardner, ML-based detector etc. In addition, channel estimation also seems a very important for good BER performance.

Is there a reference or tutorial paper which has a summary/comparison of the methods(in terms of power consumption and BER performance) available in literature on digital modulation techniques.

Thanks

Check the book "Digital Communications" for John. Proakis

Hi David83

Thanks! But I am looking for a reference paper which is tuned towards VLSI implementation. Which compares power dissipation, BER performance etc. for different algorithms.

Thanks
