Good day,

I am using Winbond W77E532 currently, and it working perfectly.
Anyway, now the production was obsoleted, therefore I can't find any replacement parts.

My question is, what MCU shall I use to replace it?
My concern is the Programming Area, which I use nearly all of the available memory (128kb).

Another question is if I cannot find any replacement MCU, what shall be the best 8-bit MCU that can suite current circuit (without major hardware changes). In this case, do I need to change my compiler, as well as instruction set ?

By the way, I am currently using .asm file, then use RCHPSIM to compile. If I need to migrate to other MCU like AVR, do I need to use different compiler and instruction set ?

Your help and advice is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

you surely know: we don´t see your "current circuit"... so we don´t know the requirements.

Btw: I like the AVR, but if you now use a 8051 microcontroller, then the easiest way is to choose another 8051 device. They are still available, form different manufacturers, as far as I know.

Dear Klaus,
Thank you so much for responding.
What I meant by current circuit is I am using the following pin configuration.

Before this, I used ATMEL AT89C55WD. But my application need more program space, so I changed to Winbond W77E532.
Now, it was obsoleted, so I need the replacement.

Thank you and best regards,
Piau

Hi,

I used your informations and simply did a search on "8051 128kb DIL40" and came to this site: (over 70,000 hits)
http://www.nuvoton.com/hq/products/...us/standard-8051-series/w77e532a/?__locale=de

It shows status of W77E532A = "Mass production". Not obsolete....

And this was on the second item of the search results... I assume there are still other solutions...

Klaus

Thank you so much Klaus.
You solved my problem. I will get to Nuvoton for the MCU.

Thank you so much, again.

Have a nice day.

Best regards,
Piau
