hey,

when i draw a line or arc in hfss, are they choosen by defualt to be pec?

If not, how do i draw a line or arc made of Pec?

thank you

Keep one simple thing in mid that will keep you safe from getting confused.
All the working area in HFSS is by default made of PEC so what so ever you draw in HFSS is surrounded by PEC by default until you change your material.
Take it as a big solid cube of PEC and you are carving your model in that piece. So you just draw the line or arc and be sure that it is made of PEC

i build a structure made of wires using hfss.

I used a plane wave excitation, but when i try to check it out using the green V symbol (forgot it's name)
it says that there is a problem in the 3D structure (yellow warrning symbol)
Is it ok? basically i used wires which of course arent 3D.

It is called validate which is used to verify the model
I can not comment as long as I know what is the warning?
If it is saying there is problem with structure it means there is some problem.
Can you explain a bit about your project ?

well actually i try to create a chiral particle,

which is made of a circular wire (with inner radius) in x-y plane connected by two wires (also with inner radius) which are z oriented.

Obviously, 1d wire isn't what im looking for (because its a 3d structure),

Im new to simulate programs, so im looking for a guide or anything that may help.

thanks a lot!

I do not know what is this chiral particle
All I can suggest you few commands which can help you to convert the wire diagrams to 3D structures
1. Modeler> surface>move faces>along normal or along vector
2. Modeler> surface>sweep face along the normal
3 Draw> Sweep>around axis or along vector or along path
Try to explore these commands they are of great help
I will suggest you following way to start
1.Divide your total model into simplest 2D model exploiting symmetries
2.Draw it with the help of lines or basic commands available
3. Use modeler > Boolean commands to add and subtract what is needed
It is always recommended to draw model in HFSS to avoid any complications
Try to follow some tutorial also HFSS help
