What is meant by site definition in floorplan?

What is site in floorplan? What is the significance of site?
 

Site Definition is used to group the Cells.

In Standard Cells, if your library is having Single Height Cells and Double Height cells . They you will mention two SITE information.

This grouping is required so that the placement will be appropriate during floorplan.
