Hello,
I have just started learning Primetime tool
Can someone tell me about library files that are to be included with the design?

Do we generate those lib files or we download it from company websites,I got mixed messages, somewhere I read that we create these files using lc_shell, and ncx etc. whereas some posts suggests downloading it from company website?

I have licensed version of all the synopsys tools like Primetime, design compiler ncx etc

Please help me learn Primetime......
Thank you

You are able to do both ways to get the .lib.
Using .lib file from library vendor or project manager.
Or converting the .db to .lib using Design Compiler.

the original file always comes from a foundry or a vendor. you can manipulate those files and create new ones, as long as you have something to begin with. if you have no idea where to start, look into freePDK.
