Exact BER of Viterbi decoder?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to calculate the exact Bit Error Rate of Viterbi decoder?
All I can find is upper bounds on the error probability...
 

i study about it long time sgo so i might be wrong here but as far as i understand exaxt BER cant be calculated. thats because if you want to do it you should now where are the errors and if you know that there want be any errors.
