hello

I am making a process indicator using pic microcontroller and 7 segments.
i was looking in the datasheet of selec PIC101A-VI-230 process indicator, and 2 things caught my attention.
1- the process indicator can realize that there is overvoltage in sensor terminal. How may i make the microcontroller analog channel detects that there is overvoltage? and how I can guarantee both overvoltage protection and detection in the same time (I mean that may be protection affects detection)?

2- it is mentioned also that the process indicator detects undervoltage or reverse connection of the sensor. for the first case, I can imagine what they may do for detecting overvoltage, but how to detect reverse polarity of the sensor?

thanks
