Suddenly my car stereo doesn't turn on or sends one signal once a time to speakers and turns off. I try to disconnect all power and then connect all but with no results. I saw the 15A fuse back of the stereo and it is ok. I disconnect it from my car and I try it with a 12V psu 1A, I found the pins to power on but one flash and that's it turned off. What else to check ?

Clearly it has an internal fault but without knowing the model and manufacturer there is almost no chance of anyone helping you.

I will point out that a 12V 1A PSU is very unlikely to provide enough power for it. The spindle motor alone might need more power than that PSU can provide, you need something rated at 5A or more to be sure it can start up, there is a reason for the fuse being 15A!. I would caution you not to test it without loudspeakers connected as it can damage the internal amplifiers.

Brian.

thanks for your advice, but the same reacting was on the car, it's faulty. the model is a JVC kdsx998r

There are only three wires you need for the stereo to power on, constant power (always on), accessory power (turns on and off with the key) and ground. Test all three with a meter - if they test good then you know it is the stereo and not a blown fuse etc in the car.

This might be tricky to fix because the service manual doesn't have a schematic in it and the fault-finding flow chart only covers the CD mechanism.

Brian.

The service manual is like not complete and I dont know how to check with meter, C1500. I know its not the fuse because I can see it's clear. I think that the problem is on pcb, I can say that 2 years I was having one other problem: when it plays CD automatically goes to radio and when was in radio automatically goes to CD and that was random, one day maybe got 5 times, one day maybe continuously and one day plays well.

I just googled the model # - that is a pretty old unit - I remember installing many of them in the early 2000's. Its not worth fixing for what new head units cost today ( and perform much better).

yeah I know I have it 16 years, I am trying something like find the problem if easy and fix it, I have already repair it 3 times. Maybe it is time for a new one
