Hi guys. I have designed a simple processor that perform basic logic and arithmetic operations. The simulation in Proteus works like a charm. Now I want to get the processor on a real circuit to show to my instructor. But the problem is I have no prior experience in making PCBs and the instructor shows no help in the practical aspects. He just lectures and wants to see a REAL processor working no matter what. so i decided that I'll give the PCB to some hardware guys to print, solder it for me. But I want to make sure that this PCB DESIGN is correct. How do I know that the circuit will work fine, the simulation runs well, does that mean the PCB will run well also? I get "CRC " but no "DRC" errors, Are they serious? Do I need to fix them or the circuit will just work fine?
Thank you in advance. Any advice will be appreciated since the deadline of this project is after four days and I have been working for more than a week on it

Here is the PCB circuit:

Hi,

I get "CRC " but no "DRC" errors, Are they serious?
How can we anser this? We don't see the error report...

I can't see any traces on your pcb, so it seems your signals is not routed ( not 'designed') at all.
The board contains the devices, butno electrical connections.
Without 'design' it is very likely that you don't get DRC errors.

this design is a crap, sorry. Don't even think about start manufacture it. It will never work.
I think, you better spend few years to get more expirience with simplier pcbs before you will be able to trace this one.

Possibly. But not everybody is using proteus. To show your design to the Edaboard public, you'll post pdf schematic and layout prinouts or at least screen shots.

Omarayman, Easyrider83 is not trying to be mean - hes absolutly correct.

No offense is intended but its awful.
If your going to have anything to do with PCB layout you really need to study it some more.

And what the heck is this? it looks like a collection of 74 series IC's from the 70's.
What sort of tutor is getting you to make a processor using these? one thats teaching obsolete technologies perhaps?

Just an observation but the rats nest shown in the first post looks like the design has bad placement. (I can't look at the Proteus files to check).

Of course they teach obsolete technologies, new technology costs money, and requires instructors that are qualified to teach those newer technologies. The school would never turn a massive profit if they had to buy FPGAs and hire competent instructors.

This processor design would have been done in an FPGA at most schools. This is the stuff I used (74 series) back when I went to school and graduated ~30 years ago.
