Hello,I would like to design a Flyback converter with TL494 could anyone suggest the circuit and operation I have 6V which I want to make it 15VDC for supplying the control circuit of my VFD for AC 3phase motors.

The high frequency transformer I have on which is written :EI-28ASG,01N,LIV 0454 was extracted from a computer power supply, can you please guide me on how I can get the 15VDC?

Please help,best regards,

I recently bought some of these ultra low cost Chinese power supplies, fully expecting them to be total rubbish.
To my great surprise they work extremely well with excellent voltage regulation and and a very wide input voltage range that would work anywhere in the world.
They are not a buck regulator, but a proper fully mains isolated dc power supply.

For the price, its just not worth building something myself.
I now use these to power every small project.

Isn't it amazing? The price/performance ratio?

I also wanted myself to do an Universal AC to 12V and 5V supply, and found this:

Are you trying to build a 6 to 15 V isolated DC/DC converter or an AC/DC power supply, as assumed by the previous posters?

Regarding the recycled transformer, you need at least a schematic of the original power supply to estimate it's parameters and determine if it may be useable for your design. The type number is a manufacturer code which can be hardly decoded.

yes, from your post it sounds to me that you really need a low power boost converter...and micrel do some nice chips for that...or even a cheap ucc38c42 etc etc
