Hello!
The above figure is my pick-up winding which will pick up magnetic flux from a 10 meters track which has an alternating current of approximately 10A and a frequency of around 40kHz. If we put this pick-up winding on top of the track, at an approximately 10mm higher position, there will be an AC voltage induced in my pick-up windings, and I connect an amp meter to the 2 ends of my winding to measure the short circuit current (I get approximately 0.83A).
Here is some of my specifications of my pick-up winding, there is a black ferrite bar( length is 10cm ), my aim is to cover 80% of the ferrite bar and with at least 23 turns. I chose 0.5mm wire and parallel 6 of them(6 parallel strands) and wind them 23 turns (approximately 42~43 uH).
From my understanding, if we increase the winding inductance(increase the turns of the winding) the short circuit current is decreasing.
My question is: With at least 23 turns (at least 42uH) and 80% coverage of the ferrite bar, how to increase the short circuit current without modifying the ferrite bar? I am thinking it has to do soming with the winding, right? Is there a special way that I could wind to increase the short circuit current?
Thanks in advance!
