Hi;

I ask how can i use the template of 'load pull technique ' in ADS to display the PAE of my amplifier .
In fact, i design an amplifier class AB and now i shoud enhance the efficiency so i should use the load pull technique in ADS . However, when i use the template(design guide-->load pull) after that i delete the existing transistor and it's model and i insert my design (i modify the Pavs, freq, vhight, vlow also the S11(i write S11=00+00*j) . If i run simulation ,i can't display the PAE .
I ask for your help to tell me all the step to make the simulation successeed and i can display the PAE. Tell me about the parameter that i should modify and what i should add.
I'm very gratfull for your help.

Regards.

hi,
there are many template for loadpull in ADS. i have seen both PAE and Efficiency. you may want to explore all the template and see which one has PAE?

What does it mean, you can't display PAE, do you see some power contours, do you got errors? Maybe specify the template you're using or make a screeshot of your schematic.

HI,

Sure , i try to use this template(design guide-->load pull), but when i insert my design and run simulation i can't display the PAE .I ask how can i resolve this matter (perhapes there are some step missing. So, can you hepl me to use this template successfully, if you have a clear tutorial how to use the load pull give me.
I'm very gratfull.

There is no error but the term PAE doesn't exist in the file , so i can't display it .I ask where is the matter ; i use the template in ADS .I JUST INSERT MY DESIGN AND MODIFY SUCH PARAMETER.

Regards

In fact , there is a screeshot of my schematic in order to understand what i dO

No.
Show me all equations definded in all pages of Data Display.

Don't you remove any "MeasurementEquation" from schematic ?
Show me original template schematic.
Or show me ADS netlist.

You can get ADS netlist via "DynamicLink > Top-level Design Netlist".

The matter that there isn't any equation defined in the data display :(
there is all the netlis in the data display

your DDS shows you deleted more then what you should have. i have done loadpull simulation before. the DDS will have automated data and you dont need to insert any graph. i suggest you create new schematic and repeat the process from beginning.

Really, i repeat this process more than 7 TIME but there is the same data display , idon't found the equation of PAE. If you have a tutorial , i'm very gratfull if you send me it.
Regards

sorry i dont have any tutorial. when i done it, i could see PAE in results and i have not done anything in the template but replacing the device as you did.

there is all the netlis in the data display
Can you understand Netlist ?
It is not Netlist.

Surely read my apeends.

Show me original template schematic and original template data display.

Or show me ADS netlist.

I think you can not understand ADS data structure at all.

I assume original schematic's name is "hoge", so schematic datas are stored as "networks/hoge.dsn", "networks/hoge.ael" and "networks/hoge.atf".
Data Display data is located under project directory as "hoge.dds".

If your own schematic name is "boke", you have to copy "hoge.dds" as "boke.dds".
Or you have to specify to use "hoge.dds" instead of "boke.dds".
You can set this from "boke" schematic.

BTW, simulation result datas are located as "data/hoge.ds" and "data/boke.ds".

ADS Netlist is located as "netlist.log" under project directory.

I don't understand clearly , if you mean that i should replace the file .dsn of the template load pull existing in the ADS by the fi file .dds of my design.
I ask to explain more how can i display the file .dds that is able to display the PAE;
Regards

where i found the file data/boke.ds?

i found my file;ds but i ask about where i found the original schematic's name is "hoge' and if it is the file.ds of the templtate load pull existing in the ADS?

I copy the template to my name, after that i delete the transistor and insert may design , modify frequency ,pavs, vlow and vhight also S11 . After i run simulation or what i do?there is a missing step?

I don't understand clearly , if you mean that i should replace the file .dsn of the template load pull existing in the ADS by the fi file .dds of my design.
No.
Copy template dds to your own name.

You have your own schematic.
Show ever you don't have dds file which include necessary equations.
So you have to copy it from template, that is, design-guide.

Simply you can not understand ADS at all.
Before going to PAE, learn very basic of ADS surely.

When i do what you say and run simulation i obtain in the screen of simulation this:
image-3-ConvertImage.jpg
But the hanen.dds( the data display) doesn't opened.

- - - Updated - - -

so , when the hanen.dds opened i should add all the equation .However most of equation i don't fount in the data display such as PAE_CONTOUR-P, PAE_MAX ETC . where i can found this equation (there is a red label say'equation are on the equation page ' however i don't found . Can you help to found the location of the equation.
Regards

Still you can not understand very basic operation of ADS at all.
Surely learn very basic operation of ADS.

Regarding schematic, you copied it from template or created it
So "networks/hanen.dsn" exists.

However regarding Data Display, you didn't copy it from template or create it at all.
So your Data Display("hanen.dds") is empty.

ADS simulator generates "data/hanen.ds".
However it does not creates "hanen.dds".
You have to copy it from template.

When i do what you say and run simulation i obtain in the screen of simulation this:
But the hanen.dds( the data display) doesn't opened.
See my appends surely.
https://www.edaboard.com/threads/354400/#13
You have to specify to use "hanen.dds".
You can set this from "hanen" schematic.

so , when the hanen.dds opened i should add all the equation .However most of equation i don't fount in the data display such as PAE_CONTOUR-P, PAE_MAX ETC.
Again copy DDS file from template.
https://edadocs.software.keysight.com/display/ads2009U1/Loadpull+DesignGuide

Again Surely learn very basic operation of ADS.

I think some measurement equations are defined by "MeasEqn" in template schematic. These are expressed as AEL in ADS Netlist.
However I can not find them in your schematic.
https://www.edaboard.com/threads/354400/#5

Don't you remove any "MeasurementEquation" from schematic ?
https://www.edaboard.com/threads/354400/#8

The matter that there isn't any equation defined in the data display :(
there is all the netlis in the data display
This shows contents of "data/louadpuLL2.ds".
If you define PAE by "MeasEqn" in schematic, PAE is included in "data/louadpuLL2.ds".
However it is not mandatory, you can define PAE in Data Display.
Surely see template.

Surely learn very basic operation of ADS.
