How to calculate power losses of a boost converter in an easy way.

I know some power losses in a boost converter; conductance losses, switching losses, inductance losses and others. Is there any easy and quick way to calculate these losses from hspice simulation results? What are the most suitable equations for calculating these losses?

Some losses are innate in the action of the boost converter. Perhaps that kind are theoretical and can be calculated theoretically.

Then there are parasitic losses. To include them it helps to know from experience what these losses contribute (I don't have that experience). Or we can estimate the losses by adding resistors in appropriate places in the simulated circuit (although this too requires a bit of experience).

Is there any easy and quick way to calculate these losses from hspice simulation results?

It's useful if we can estimate power taken from the supply. There is a type of LC filter which you can put at the supply lead to your circuit, to reduce current ripple to a minimum. Continuous current is taken from the supply. This makes it easy to read average Amperes.

Calculate incoming V * A. By comparing that figure with output, you calculate efficiency.
 

If you put in the inductor series resistance, and the rest of the circuit components corresponds to the circuit to be built, then the simulation should give a reasonable estimate of the circuit efficiency.
Just measure the power (VA) into the circuit and subtract the power (VA) delivered to the load. The difference is from all the losses.

LTspice allows you to display the power dissipated in any part by ALT-Left Clicking the part. Don't know if Hspice has a similar ability.
 

I want to calculate each part power losses. Conductance and switching losses of power FETs can be calculated from previous post https://www.edaboard.com/threads/58898/. What are calculation methods for other losses?
