I want to creat a triangular meshing sphere object in matlab. I tried to use "sphere" and "surf" function but it only creat rectangular meshing elements in the object like this. So can you support me how to do. picture meshing.jpg

my purpose is analyze scattering field of an spherical object, so is spherical object generated by the function above suitable for analyzing?

If there are not any assymmetry at above geometry or preferred direction for the scattering field, I would prefer to use some meshing grid that equaly fills the entire surface, however if the field beams are concentrated at the poles, the above pattern seems appropriate.

Many field solvers I have seen, seem to use the triangular meshing pattern as standard.

My problem is: For an incident field driven into sphere, analyze scattering field generated by current distribution in this sphere( the current distribution and scattering field is caculated by Method of Moments which input is incident field).
