Dear Friends,
I have somewhat experience with SMPS circuits. Last time I developed 12V/8A SMPS PCB. Running good. Second time My requirement is varied little bit (ie 15V-5A). I have just changed the voltage divider network in the Programmable shunt regulator, I got exact output too.

Now I Need circuit for 50V/100V -500mA SMPS for one medical device. It should be very compact in size. I have tried with same 12V/8A SMPS circuit. Bad luck I cant get what I expected. If some one knows kindly help me out

Hi, you mean vin=50v, vout=100v,?
or you mean vout is variable beteeen 50v and 100v?
You need isolation?

No Sir

Vin=100-230V AC

Output(DC) =50V/500mA or 100V/500mA

Hello
I have flyback for you that does this, just adjust the ref voltage into the external error amplifier as in the schematic.
It is in the free download ltspice simulator here also provided. (you can run it by converting it to .asc)

I made it DCM. Duty cycle of 0.6 at 85v on the dc bus, so as to reduce the reverse diode volts

Excel design file also supplied.

Hello Treez,
Nice work you have done . Thanks for your effort. I will try your Idea. I have some doubts.

1.What is the use of LT1243 here?

2.Why we should use optos here?

3.What will be size of Transformer?

LT1243 was used because it is a current mode control ic available in the free LTspice simulator, -you can use any controller of your choosing.
…opto are needed for isolation of the feedback signal.
Start with an off-the-shelf gapped ETD39 core (eg from TDK or ferroxcube) , and make out the calculation document…..then check if you are saturating, and check your core loss’s……if its ok, then stay with it….if you have loads of margin, consider going smaller.
Once you have the calculation document made out its easy to change cores and come up with the optimal design.
The attached maths document for smps includes all the equations that you need to know in transformer design.

you have mains input, so i presumed you needed isolation
