Four pins probes measurement

Hi all,

I am new here, I hope you can help me.

I have a thin membrane of graphene, which is conductive only on one side. I would like to measure the resistivity of the conductive material.
Searching on the Internet I found the possibility of getting this resistivity through 4 point probes measurements. I also found the measurements can be done just using two multimeters. Is it really possible? I have doubts about the fact that only two multimeters are needed. I think I should use one current source and one amperometer.
If it is possible to perform this measurement with two multimiters, how can I do that? (I have only the possibility to use two multimeters).

Your 4-point probe is commonly used in semiconductor
measurement / process control. The mapping from
measured resistance to 2-d or 3-d resistivity is not
simple but can be looked up. Force current between
outer probes and measure voltage@distance with the
inner probes. You need the geometry info (probe
spacing and any sample features which would act
to constrain current flow). Your forced current could
also be force voltage, measure current, by the way.

When you say "Force current between outer probes" you mean I should use a current source (that I don't have)?

Could be correct this methodology in the video? If it is correct then I just multiply the superficial resistance times the thickness of my random shape material and I will get the resistivity [Ω*cm], correct?

Well I don't think that you can do such measurement for characterizing your membrane because you can see in his video, measurement are +/-30%. Plus his measurement of thickness is very random.
So if you want just a quick estimation of the resistivity then it might be ok, but for precise measurement, you need to use the right tools.
