i want to design BPF of 3.5-6.5 GHz with stop band attenuation of 50 dB. can any one help me how to proceed?

Are you sure you don't want a band stop filter? I've never really heard the term stop band used for a BPF.

Are you trying to make an active or passive filter? What order filter do you need, how fast does the pass band have to roll off?

To make the specification complete, you should also specify stop band corner frequencies for the 50 dB attenuation, also maximum passband ripple. Then you can determine the filter order.

Every filter (except for all-pass) has a stop band. Also presume a passive filter for x GHz.

Thank u for ur reply.i want band stop of 50dB at 15% of its pass bands.

Means 0.45 GHz transition band, stop band corners 3.05 and 6.95 GHz? How about pass band ripple?

PASS BAND RIPPLE OF 0.5 dB i have to design.
