In my schematics with Altium Designer, is there a standard way to indicate that a component should go on top or bottom layer for layout?

Thanks

Although being unnusual to add a component at the library not at the top layer, I presume that you could do that just by drawing this component with the bottom primitives ( Pads, Silkscreen, etc... ).

Umm, I'm not sure to understand your answer or you understand my question correctly. Here's an example on what I meant.

I have several test point pads in my schematics. Some of them should go on bottom layer for using with a bed of nails and the others should go on top layer. If it is possible, how do I constraint a test point (or a component) to be placed on bottom layer?

As far as I know the only contraints for placement are Component Clearance and Height, leastways with the version I used. You could alternatively assign in the schematic a component originally drew at bottom layer. In fact, if that contraint apply to many parts, would become unfeasible duplicate all the library.

Ok thanks for the info. It will be a nice feature to have.

Ok, I figured out on how to constraint a component on top or bottom layer.

You need to edit the property of the component and in the parameters section you select Add as Rule...
Then you select Edit Rules Value...
Under Placement, you select Permitted layers Rule and you choose the desired layer.

That's all.
