effect of changing the value of L in 45nm Technology library?

hello everyone,

i want to change the width of transistor from W to W/2. i am using 45nm tech library provided by the cadence. and i am using the virtuoso tool. by default the value of W is 120nm. i am unable to set it 60nm because there is limit of 120nm. what should i do?
 

Keep it @ 120nm. A limit is a limit is a limit. If you need to attain a certain W/L ratio, adjust the length value L correspondingly.
 

As erikl mentioned, instead of halving the width, you can double the length, for example. Keep in mind that as you change the length, you change ro (=1/gds) which changes roughly proportionally with the length.
