Dear all,

Proteus 8 was working properly since very long time. But after I imported Arduino library and tried a very simple program ( LED blinking), the simulation started to crash!

First, the program shows a warning message: "simulation is not running in real time due to excessive cpu load"

then, it shut down showing either: "access violation in module ntdll.dll" or "proteus access violation in module 'UNKNOWN' " and/ or "PDS.exe has stopped working"

I tried a lot of solutions I saw on forums, from checking connections to uninstalling and reinstalling the software

What is wrong? how to solve?

Things to try:

* Open Task Manager (press Ctrl-Alt-Delete). Look over the list of processes. See if any are hogging memory. See if specs for Proteus are reasonable. Watch the numbers while running a troublesome simulation.

There is also a free program called SysInternal Process Explorer, which provides greater detail of information.

* Do an internet search on ntdll.dll. Evidently it creates a number of problems and violations.

* Examine your preferences in Proteus. Examine settings for the troublesome simulation. Did the timestep change without your knowledge? Etc.
