antenna reciprocity

WHY the radiation pattern of an antenna is the same whether is used as a transmitting antenna or receiving antenna?

Re: ANTENNA RECIPROCITY

It has to do with Maxwell's equations in differential form. The boundary conditions are the same if the field produces the currents or if the currents produce the fields.
