Hi.

Lets assume that I have a Band Pass filter designed to have a 50 Ohm impedance around the working frequency wo, with a given quality factor. If I put this filter in series with another Band Pass Filter, with the same characteristics, but the resonance frequency is different, what is going to be the equivalent response of the series?

Thank you for your time.

With best regards.

resonance frequency

Resonance tends to emphasize one frequency, and eliminate all others. Thus you'll get zero output, if the two center frequencies are outside each other's passband.

However you'll get some output if the passbands overlap. The resulting center frequency will be somewhere between the two initial center frequencies. The Q will be smaller.

Yep, that makes sense. It is what happens when we have low pass cascaded with high pass.

With best regards.
