power line communicatie pic16

Hii every body ,this is my first post to this forum center which i found very useful
am having a graduation project about power line communication ,we were asked to connect couple of pcs within a single house so they can share data and files, and as we dont use these type of communication networks in egypt , i found lack of resources and application and materilas i could use for starting the project ...
i would be very thankful if any 1 helped me with the useful material and resources for this topic espically on hardware impemintaion of the modem...
thanks

Try Maxim site:

This is home-network based on MAX2986.

tda5051

sort of home network you need a switch/hub a few metter of Cat5 cable. try search peer to peer networking on the net

Hello

Search Freescale site thay once publish a referance design best on the DSP56f8xx

for power line modem www.freescale.com

All the best

powerline communication in the philippines

From my experience, the main difficulties is driving a very low impedance. I mean, the power line has very low impedance if the power load of the line is high, therefor the modem must be able to inject signal with enough current to power line. Creating such high current small signal is no simple job. You will need some kind of high current boosters (like in audio amplifiers).

Another problem is coupling. The hard part is to make an efficient coupling with low losses. We used a capacitor and a hand-made transformator (roughly 1:1) for separating the power line with the circuit.

But for residential applications where power load is not so high, i think the above problems won't be too serious.

glenjoy,

You said X10. Are you talking about X10 lighting control?

Also, I believe you are probably 220V out there.

What are you trying to accomplish?

power line

what is the x10 lightning control. i heard that the x10 was a transmission protocol that used the power wiring in houses. so it could control almost anything in the house??

by the way do you have some schematics for the x10 over 220V @ 50Hz ??????????

data over power lines upb ic

You are correct in that is sends the control signals through the power lines.

No, I don't have schematics. If you do a google search though you should be able to find more info on the protocol.

hi guys
i had done a project in power line communications and had discussed it several times in the forum, plz search the fourm for power line communications.
if u r interested in purchasing a power line modem PLM click here:

if u want to see a project done in it:http://www.hth.com/plm-24/plm-24.htm

for information on power line communication protocols and X10 see:

project tda5051

Hi Friends,
This Is Saeed A Khan, Today I want To Inform The Other Member's That One Of Our Forum Member Named Shaban Nick Name"Snabilat" Of Electronics Department University Of Peshawar Has Still Not Completed His Own Project On Power line Modem. Through This Forum Iwant To Ask Mr Shaban " Snabilat" That Why R U Sharing Wrong Information With Other Members. I know U Still haven't Completed Ur Powerline Modem Project. I Advise U To Complete Ur Own Project First, Then Share Ur Valuable Information To Others. And Dont Tell ALie.

MY dear member friends, what mr.saeed has said is correct. it is true that i have not submitted my project yet. but i have implemented it myself , and he knows it.
not submitting it is a degree requirement; but not sharing information one knows is selfishness.if i know somethig i don't see why should i not share it with others.

Why R U Sharing Wrong Information With Other Members. I know U Still haven't Completed Ur Powerline Modem Project. I Advise U To Complete Ur Own Project First, Then Share Ur Valuable Information To Others. And Dont Tell ALie.
now this is for brother seed.
1)the information i provided is not wrong , it does contains brief descriptions in power line communnications.
2)well just to keep u upto date; i have completed it, but have not submitted it.(and i think thats my problem not urs.)
3)thanks for accepting the fact that my information is valuable.
4)i can tell u better ways of getting points in the EDA FOURM, then by giving invalid information to members questions.

and back to u my member friends, let me share u all a secret, i have thanked all of u in my acknowledgements of my thesis, for helping me during my project.
if any body needs schematics or code can let me know.

powerline communications schematic

I've done the PLM project using ST modem IC.As irfansyah said, the problem is low impedence of low voltage grid. When i create myown grid(after transformer 220-220V) the transmition is ok,but when connect to the real grid the signal is too small to transmit.

hi lazy boy .so, waht is the solving of ur problem ????

maxim powerline schematic

Thank u everybody for the valubale information and sources u all helped me with , it really help me out very much with my PLC project, and hope everything is fine between snabilat and saeedakhan coz we just helping each other here nothing more
anyways, if any1 can help me finding schematic diag and datasheet for powr line networking that will be great , coz until now i didnt reach a real useful 1....
thanks again

protocol+tda5051

hi malshawaf
try to download the tda5051 which gidimiz added its link previously
here is the link any way:
h**p://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/PHILIPS/TDA5051.html
the datasheet contains a schematic for a power line modem.

hope i 'v helped

max2986 application not

i would like to ask that , now after implemetnation the power line modems on couple of PC , should i use a certain a type of protcol to avoid data collision and losses and also is there any protcol where the pcs recgonise each other when connected to the power line such as IP and MAC on the normal ethernet

thanks
