[51] i need a logic for transmitting a charecter whern a key is pressed in the keypad....

iam working for addressable fire alarm system .... i want the logic for transmiting the keycodes of perticular keys on key press on the display board...
on key press i want to send 0x01 0x02 up to 0x17 to serial port.... i.e when i press key 1 0x01 should display on serial port( serial port iam connecting to pc) if i press key 2 shiould display 0x02...... etc please gv ideas...
 

Are you using matrix keypad or 1 wire ADC keypad ? What MCU are you using ? What Compiler are you using ? What is your crystal frequency ?
 

iam using matrix keypad and 8051 microcontroller..ency 11.052 mhz

Other than sending data to PC using UART you mention about some display board. What kind of display board is it like LCD, 7 Segment, LED Matrix, etc... and how does it interface to 8051 ?
