Hello,
Am new in the forum and I have a serious problem ... my $40 headset that works for almost a year just get ruined because I use it for gaming and to watch Youtube or listen to music .... sooo I had so much things to buy this year and I cant afford another headset for another 60 or 80 bucks !!
I google my issue and I almost get a solve then I decided to post my prob here so workteam can help me solve it .
as I said I had $40 Sonic headset (not popular) and its USB , it had a mic on it , recently I open it and try to fix it but with no resort ... well I fix the mic wiring problem but the major issue still .. the headset provide sound form the left ear louder than the right ear (the left ear give me normal sound but the right ear not) .. after I open it I saw that the blue and the other copper wire comes from the right ear is cut but the thing is it provide a little sound from it :shock::shock:
I fix the mic problem but the sound difference stand still.
can anyone help me fix it because it mean so much to me.
Thanks :!::!:

Re: My headset broken and I need serious help !!

Wiring capacitance may generate little sounds.
Cheap headset suffer from poor design from newbie Chinese engineers and lack of strain relief. The fine wire strands are possibly AWG48 making them weak and prone to jerk failures.

Your only solution is to repair it and add polyurethane strain relief.

Personally i prefer SkullCandy ear buds for comfort and quality.
Cheap but not rugged so don't yank that cord.

Thank you for your assistant but you didn't read what am trying to solve
my issue is with wiring the right speaker not about cheap headset or what's what you prefer (I don't like the earbuds for gaming or listen music at all !!)
so again I need help with wiring the RIGHT SPEAKERRR and if you need any photos taken form my headset it would be my pleasure.
thanks for all :D

Re: My headset broken and I need serious help !!

open left ear of your headset, check it and make connection of right ear in same way. or for more understanding post an image of your opes headset.

Thanks for your reply ... I open the left and right ear
the right ear wiring perfect but it seems the issue comes from the left ear

the connection like this :
from the usb there is 1 copper 1 red wires connected to the mic hub and 1 blue and 1 red-copper wires comes from usb connected to the left speaker
there is a pair or wires comes from the right speaker (red and copper) ... the copper is connected to the left speaker and the red that soldered with a green wire (that comes from the usb) are cutted and I don't know where to put them.

I figure that the left speaker produce louder and much better sound (and had much more bass) than the right speaker BUT keep in mind that I still can hear sound from the right speaker but with less info

for much detailed about my prob I might post a photo of my headset .
thanks.

so yeah I really hope that I found out a solve for this
and for those whom didn't get my problem its all about the right ear ... left ear provides much more sound than the right ear.
left ear had bass on it but the right is not
please help me solve this cuz its mean so much to me
Thanks.

Re: My headset broken and I need serious help !!

The problem can be in the wires, or it can be in the transducer.

* Are you able to unsolder wires from the bad transducer? Then test the transducer alone by applying an audio signal.

* Be careful not to yank on wires. Those are very thin wires running to the voice coils. If you break one you'll have a tough time fixing it.

* Do not apply heat longer than necessary, or you will melt the plastic. The solder pads might come loose.

* Can you test the wires with an ohmmeter? Test each for continuity. Test them for crosstalk. It's better for the transducers if you unsolder them first.

* Long-time use (or use at high volumes) can eventually cause breaking of wires to the voice coil. I don't know of a way to solder tiny wires in such a small space.

* Bend the wires, wobble the plug, to get a hint whether an internal wire has bad contact. You might have intermittent contact, or reduced volume. You might need to rewire it. I find that 4-wire telephone cord is suitable.

Re: My headset broken and I need serious help !!

Those look like cheap Chinese headphones - no matter what you actually paid for them! I appreciate you may think they are high quality but they come off a production line and retail at about $5 in the mass market.

There is nothing in them except a mic, two loudspeakers and the wiring. If the wires have broken there will be no sound at all so I'm afraid the problem is almost certainly that the quiet loudspeaker has broken. you will not be able to find a replacement. You mention it is a USB headset, if the fault is in the USB circuits again you will not be able to repair it. The parts will be virtually impossible to obtain and you need special equipment to unsolder and resolder the components.

Sorry to bring you bad news.

Brian.
