I am trying to run a simulation in OrCAD 9.1 with a transformer. I want to step - up from 6 to 240V. What would be the Spice transformer value? i checked it has same inductunce in both coils. How should I calculate it? What are the considerations for different values of power in the secondary?

I know that I ask too many questions - here and in other topics- for transformers but it is like Murphy's Law: If you haven't read it in school you 'll meet it in life!!!

Thanks,
D.

Hi,

Try also this one :

Go forward at the end of each page.

Replace * by t

In PSPICE a real transformer is simulated with two inductances and a coupling.

Alternatively you can consider to use one of the several equivalent models of the transformer and simulate it

Be carefull if you are trying to model parasistic. Maybe you should add a small resistors in series.
