Hello,
Do you know what is the power draw of this amplifier (ID:100TVP) when it is not playing music? I am assuming it is a Class AB amplifier inside it.

Nobody can guess at the idle current of an amplifier from its photo. Its output power is only 100W so it could easily draw more than 100W at idle with a class-A output.
The sales sheet keeps talking about VALVES that had a very high idle current.

Its manual says it can be set to produce spongy class-A type of sounds or tight class-AB type of sounds. Maybe it actually uses vacuum tubes (valves).

The truth is it could be almost anything. The advertizing is aimed at people who want raw noise and gives no specification about quality or the technology used whatsoever.

I've seen computer loudspeakers with a single 2" unit in a thin plastic cabinet claim "Hi-Fi 100W peak power" when the actual speaker is stamped "8 Ohms 200mW", probably from the same company! As the saying goes, there are lies, damn lies and statistics...

Why would they use a modern class-D circuit in a Geetar amplifier that produces the distortion and narrow bandwidth of a 60 years old VALVES amplifier?

seriously that is the idea of it, that with a controlled class D amp, you can use DSP techniques to get any sound you want, including valve sounds.
These geetar folk do like their valve sound.
But the guitar manufs don't like the cost of valves.

Some rock bands replace the valves in their amplifiers for every show.
