Hi guys,

Because I have some space left in the layout of my comparator, I thought that I could fill that space with contacts, in this case I am referring contacts to the n-well. Is that ok? You can see the picture bellow:

Thnks in advance.

I see no reason not to, but depending on how the
density rules are constructed you may or may not get
a benefit (global density, vs an anywhere-window that
requires density to be met within any field of view).

That, and since contacts mean metal you would be
walling a potential routing lane(s) - maybe you want to
map out any likely-useful channels and only contact
the rest of the area?

Or use it for some strategic spares, like if you wanted
to make a 1/4X (low power) or 4X (speed) option by
having a couple of metal configurable FETs or resistor
segments in the bias generator / distribution, etc. \
Then your contacts are (potentially) useful.

Additionally to strategic spares, I usually used left space for polycaps to reduce induced RF interference on reference or supply voltage(s).

Ho all. Thanks for the reply.

I thought in that too, filo the spaces with capa between VDD and GND, to supress HF noise (I AM doing individual layout of each block, and each of them havê their VDD and GND). However I have to do some sims in order to know if it might have some influence in the circuito behaviour - of course with bons Aires.
