I searched around web and find out touchStone and IBIS formats are two major terminal description formats for black box circuits. To hide SPICE diagram, many vendors seems to provide IBIS or touchStone or both.

My question is what is the difference between these two?

1. Which one is more popular?

2. IBIS seems giving IV relations, where touchStone is like S-param data. any major difference?

3. Can the two convert to each other?

4. My most interested question is which one can support non-linear network? Seems IBIS can, how about touchStone?

Any comments are greatly appreciated.
