idea distancing
This post covers possible business idea - through distance electronic tution /
suuport for the DWTK group of people.... Who are they ? read on...
Toyota EFI / ECU car electronics eg sensors, motors, solinoids, relays, switches
Washing machine motors, pumps, dial switches
Fridge/freezers office equipments computer parts etc..
Has anyone here produced a kit/pcb or reprogramed the microcontroller and
loaded user friendly code and interface it to the computer. The impact is huge!
There is no need to hunt everywhere for parts, or pay big $s for small quantity
purchase. There is no need to pay custom design consultation usually charged by
the hr.
Imagine the good old days, programmers writing fortran/cobol for payroll
program calculating OTpay takes weeks costing big bucks, today MYOB or
Excel, and DIY cost nothing. In the similar analogy, someone who provides
the 'excel' equivalent in the kit/microcontroller, the user has the capability to
rig a model to suit his needs/application.
The application implemented this way becomes low cost,using recycled parts
and green concious strategy welcomed by most government bodies.
Who benefit - I call this group the DWTK lot ie anyone who wants to use the
application but really do NOT want the pain of learning assembler, linux,
cygwin, Unix, Window and the whole range of microprocessors from z80 to
microchip etc etc. And these people would welcome low cost assembled
solutions, have it working or proof of concept, and just rig it up, sit back
and relax. No need to use cutting edge technology, just yesterdays
recycled parts to contain cost!
Where is the $? Why should I produce this, a waste of my efforts?
There are so many people here who knows allthings electronics probably
spent years learning and upgrading and working harder at it. Some are
working and wish to start electronic business or are already in it.
For those who are wish to keep their permanent jobs and only thinking
freelance and/or a STARTING part time income ..
Howabout using the internet to provide one-2-one distance Tution,
support or assistance for this 'DWTK' group.
A possible checklist of services / tution -
The tutor provide possbible assembled kits variations, solutions to rig
simple gadgets eg weather monitoring and DAQ and controls using recycled
autoparts / whitegoods parts.
The tutee checks the list, and many vary the specs slightly and rig up and make
the application operational, and if so wishes study more about the mechanics /
workings (optional)
Next project (repeat entire process).
How much to charge, by personal arrangements, open world market rates
I guess. Look at www.rentacoder.com indian, polish coders asking very
competitve s/w coding rates. Very competitive = very cheap, simply
because their low costs of existence! (living, business rates, low taxes)
(language learning has gone broadband, 1-to-1, tutor/tutee can be
anywhere in the world. Why not Electronics, Mechanics etc.. even GP!)
