Hi,

When I plug in the AC adapter on my noteboo:sad:k Acer Aspire 3620 it powers on without need to press power button. Then it works fine. Is there something wrong? I shaal apprecite very much your help.

Some computers have a setting in the BIOS, to power up automatically after a blackout ends.

It is the same thing as turning on by itself when you plug in power.

You can access BIOS settings by pressing a designated key during startup.

Since Laptops have internal power, the windows Power Saving and BIOS features may be different from a tower.

What changed?

Do you use Hibernate? Sleep mode? just close the lid? Hybrid sleep (W8) Get keyboard wet?

Can you shutdown using start menu or Metro or whatever and repeat the problem?

IS Lid open when this occurs?

Control Panel has different options for AC and DC power mode under Power Settings, also in BIOS as Brad suggested for towers but not usually mobiles , I suggest.

Hi SunnySkyguy,

I regret having to replay to your questions late. I can shut down properly the notebook through start menu. I decided to tear down the computer and look for CMOS battery. I accesed and mesured it with DMM and read zero volt! So I replaced the battery and made some maintenance as cleaning and replace CPU thermal paste. Following your suggestion I set up the BIOS and I get back my nothebook working fine! Thank you very much for your advise which guide this repair succssesfully.
